Field Notes

Description:

Tall upright plant (4-5 feet) with large lance-shaped leaves and upright panicle of six-petaled flowers. Poisonous.

Habitat:

Boggy shore of Trillium Lake, a 240-acre man-made lake on the south slopes of Mt. Hood, at about 3600 feet elevation. Growing in dense patch of 50 or more plants.

Notes:

Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon.
