Palmeira real

With elegant bearing, his stem is usually single, ring-shaped and reaches 15 to 20 feet high and 20 cm in diameter. The leaves are pinnate, long, with curved rachis and the leaflets are lanceolate, rigid, green and acuminate. The palm is long and visible, covered by light green leaf sheaths. The inflorescence appears just below the palm and is about 1 m in length. It's of spadix kind, pendant, divided into numerous strong branches and a greenish spathe that falls off the plant with the maturing of the flowers. The flowers are white to purple and attract bees, particularly Arapuá. The fruits are spherical red drupes and attractive to birds.
