Field Notes

Description:

5 cm diameter
Globular, slightly flattened at the top. White, then ochre, finally pale brown upon maturity. The surface is covered by tiny warps easy to remove leaving a clean surface.
The stipe is very short or absent.

Habitat:

I found it in a grassy opening in a forest of Holm oaks and pine trees.
Usually in meadows, roadsides, lawns, heaths.
