Description:

These American Coots were seem swimming amongst a larger group a mallards. Their smaller size, black coloration, and white bills provided quite a contrast! These rails are winter residents.

Habitat:

Local park, lake. FL gulf coast, USA.

Notes:

The American Coot is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act in the USA.
