Lower alpine areas, madows

It's also called Wolf's Bane.

@chebeagueschool, you're right. this plant is poisonous!
It looks like lupin. It will kill animals if they eat it.
We see here one similar plant Delphinium malabaricum http://www.flowersofindia.in/catalog/slides/Malabar%20Delphinium.html May your plant is in same genus...Ranunculaceae family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphinium
