You might not eat those mushrooms! As they are not the tasty Maitake, but the poisonous Jack-o-Lantern!! Maitake has no gills, but pores. It is built up of brown caps coming from one (white-ish) central clump/stem. Grows at the feet of Quercus (Oak).
