Description:
During our hiking trip in Bushkill Falls, we encountered a small, gray frog with a mottled pattern on its hind limbs and back. Although wood frogs are generally brown in coloration, they may also be tan, gray, or green. The wood frog is one of the smallest amphibians in North America, reaching only 1.5-3 inches (3.5-7.6 cm) in length.
Habitat:
The wood frog can be found throughout North America, from the freezing tundra of Alaska down to the states of Alabama and Georgia. This individual was spotted alongside a wooden staircase in Bushkill Falls, Pennsylvania.
