Field Notes

Description:

Large red crab about the size of a full hand hanging around in the sea grass

Habitat:

Spotted at La Jolla Shores in the tide pools just before high tide.

Notes:

Last two pictures show more of it's body structure, but all I could really see was the back end and legs. My mom used her camera to take these shots for me. I crouched over the water for a very long time trying to move the grass enough to see the crustacean, so I'm proud to say here's our results.

Thanks Cindy, some day I'll get most of my photos onto your mission! It just takes so much time. :)
Hi Coral, I hope you'll add this beautiful crab to the Southern California Wildlife mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/7964554
Looks like hide & seek is the name of the game he likes to play.
