Description:

My first encounter ever with a wheel bug (assassin bug). I have never seen one before in my life. My reaction was, it is a spider!! Then, I said no, it is a prehistoric praying mantis. It looks like it has a rhino horn and weird armor. I was quite afraid to get close actually. HA! I have seen many since. This was the largest and the lightest in color. (Over 2 inches long - not including antennae)

Habitat:

Meadow in the Poconos

Notes:

I believe the victim is a stink bug nymph. There were plenty around for a snack.
