Field Notes

Description:

Clean -up crew above our forested hillside - Probably seeking hunting leavings. (Fall to Jan season for Deer and Turkey) As a non-meat eater I don't like the habit but for some poor people its a food they seem to need. The Turkeys soar on the thermals above the river valley. Length 64cm (25inch) Wingspan 1.5mtrs (58inch) Tried adding a video - not very professional - first attempt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Vulture

Habitat:

Wood land and farm land.

Notes:

They seem to enjoy the thermals over the power staions by the river.
