Field Notes

Habitat:

marine coasts of the southeastern United States and the Caribbean

Notes:

Not the best photos (they were cropped from group shots). It was not until I was home looking through my photos of the Royal Terns that I notice them, pardon the pun, sandwiched in the midst of the large flock. I really wished I had noticed them then, as this is a bird I don't see much. They were mingled with a large number of Royal Terns, Black Skimmers, and a few Laughing Gulls that had gathered at a large fresh water pool left on the sand by a heavy rain.
