Me too. So far the bird has always been on a wire backlit. But there are no other local birds with that posture, or type of movement. I was in a hurry and couldn't stop and get out - just to see if it would fly away so I could see the wing pattern. Next time!
It could be a mockingbird - my Sibley guide shows them as a rare visitor to Oregon! I love them, they are so comical - we have one that does a very plausible rendition of a cell phone ring that sends my husband nuts! I hope you get to get that photo!
Living in Oregon for nearly 20 years, I miss seeing these guys. Strangely, my husband and I have each independently seen what we thought was a mockingbird, and in the same spot. I'm going to keep carrying my camera with me
