Description:

Possibly Polyporus radicatus. Older specimens found already broken from base under a large deciduous tree on the edge of a lake. White and tan coloration, woody texture. Being enjoyed by some beetles and possibly some slime mold.

Habitat:

Temperate woodland bordering a freshwater lake. Rockwood Park, Virginia.
