Field Notes

Description:

Low growing, ground-cover type wildflower. Elongated, oval leaves that grow in whorls. Hairless. Small, five-petaled white flowers are produced at junctions of stem and leaves.

Habitat:

Suburban yard. Growing in mulch.

Notes:

Sorry about the poor quality flower close-up.

I have looked through most of the Galium. They all have four petals. My plant has five petaled flowers.
Thanks Lisa. I thought it might be. I haven't found a match yet.
I am uncertain as to which species you have there, but this is a type of bedstraw or Galium species.
