Beautiful specimen! Please note this is a longhorned beetle and it is in Asia but it is NOT the "Asian longhorned beetle" we in America call Anoplophora glabripennis, and it is also not Graphisurus fasciatus, a much smaller, blander looking American species of longhorn.
Hey everyone!! The Asian Longhorned Beetle is an INVASIVE PEST from China and Korea. In the USA, Department of Agriculture has launched a massive effort to eradicate it from North America. See this link. Notify your local authorities if it is not native to your country. http://www.beetlebusters.info/
You're welcome Viv! I'm envious of all your wildlife - things are pretty quite here in Tennessee now apart from the occasional moth! I'm really looking forward to spring though & keeping my fingers crossed that the 80 plus trees we planted this year will attract lots more critters!
Whoops! forgot to say thanks for the i.d. There is so much wildlife in this garden, it's very time consuming ............ but I love it
Very impressive. It nearly got squashed as I was closing the window when I spotted it on the framework
Very impressive antennae!
