Field Notes

Description:

Metalic green above. Male has a violet band below his black chin. Female's throat is white with short streaks.

Habitat:

Low lands & low mountains in western US.

Notes:

I'm glad to add this species to the usual noisey Anna's at my backyard feeder. The males black chin has a collar of irridescent violet at the bottom. It is slightly smaller & more slender that the Anna's.
