Notes:
The Call duck is the smallest breed of domestic duck, weighing only 1 - 1 1/2 lbs. Most historians think they were developed in northern Europe in the 17th century as a decoy duck. Hunters would tether them on lakes or in fields to draw wild ducks. Call ducks are very personable and make excellent pets. They were first admitted to APA in 1874.
