Field Notes

Description:

About 30 feet tall with skinny branches and a skinny trunk. The leaves are wrinkled and the end of the branches bear a small and rigid berry.

Habitat:

It was growing in the grass and was surrounded by other trees. The soil immediately beneath the tree looked dry and malnourished

Notes:

The tree had smaller versions of itself growing out of the bottom of it. Since the soil below the tree looked dry as well, we have concluded that the tree is under stress and is growing more smaller trees as a result.
