Description:

Thalassoma pavo (girelle paon in French, γύλος in Greek) is a very impressive colored mediterranean fish. It is hermaphrodite (females can remain females or transformed to males but some males can be directly born as males)
Thalassoma pavo presents a very pronounced sexual dimorphism.
In this spot you see the male colors, with uniform green color and a vertical blue stripe surrounded by red, over the pectoral fin.
