Field Notes

Notes:

Found standing on some scrap wood when I opened my old, rusty, & creaking 10x8 barn door. Possibly injured. It hasn't moved from where it stands. Not man, cat, or dog have made it flinch. A distance of at least 4' feet has been kept.

The bird has progressed to "hopping" across the floor. Still cannot identify if bird is injured or just an adolescent. Has behavior of healthy bird other than taking flight.

Update:
Hopped to door. Allowed cat a chance to smell. After cat lost interest, bird hopped into grass. Took flight, after the bird hopped into the grass.

Species ID Suggestions

Sturnus vulgaris
