Thanks for the help.They are really big and resistente birds.
These aren't jackdaws, they are Hooded Crows (Corvus cornix).You've caught them doing what they do -- scavenging -- very well. The jackdaw looks like this: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7141477
