Could this be related to/ the same as: a Golden Twin-spot moth (Chrysodeixis chalcites)?
Yes, you're right. They don't look quite the same, do they... Thanks again for your help! I'll continue with the ID search.
It certainly looks close, though the specimens I've seen appear to lack the stripe on the wing http://bugguide.net/node/view/308340 That's a species we see around here too!
