Description:

This is also known as Sand Wrasse, Reindeer Wrasse, Dragon Wrasse, Masked Wrasse, Olive-scribbled Wrasse and Carpet Wrasse.

They feed on hard shell invertebrates and grow to about 25cm in length.

Habitat:

Found in pairs in areas of mixed sand and rubble where one lifts and turns a piece of rubble while the other fish catches the prey. Juveniles are found singly in lagoons and on reef flats. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.
