Field Notes

Description:

Ceratostigma griffithii or Burmese Plumbago is a low-growing evergreen shrub with a spreading, rounded shape.

The stems grow sprawling from ground level and are densely packed with the distinctive dull green leaves edged with purple.

Ceratostigma griffithii produces small, open-faced, pretty purple-blue, five-petalled flowers in summer borne in clusters from loose flower spikes.
