Description:
The Western Emerald (Chlorostilbon melanorhynchus) is a species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. Alternatively, it has been considered as a subspecies of either the Blue-tailed Emerald, C. mellisugus, or the Red-billed Emerald, C. gibsoni. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Luckily, this "emerald" established its habitat in the Venezuelan Andes.

Notes:
In Venezuela, Hummingbirds are called "Tucusitos". Their ecological importance as reproductive agents for flowering plants in the tropical forests is notorious. These little birds visit the colorful flowers and, while they drink their nectar, pollen sticks to their bills and then transfer it to other flowers of the same species, helping the plants in their reproduction.
