Field Notes

Description:

Thin, creamish colored fungus with lots of black spots all over them.

Habitat:

A wooded area in the northeastern United States. These fungi were about all that was alive after late October snow killed all the foliage and many of the trees that had not dropped their leaves. Coincidentally, this late November day was very warm for that time of year.
