Description:

Part of the family of Scorpionfish, the Spotfin Lionfish is also known as Pterois Lionfish, Pterois Turkeyfish, Pterois Zebrafish, Spotted Lionfish, Antennata Lionfish, Antenna Turkeyfish, Ragged-Finned Lionfish, Rough-Scaled Firefish, Banded Lionfish, Broadbarred Lionfish and Broadbarred Firefish.

They feed on small fish and crustaceans, and grow to a length of about 20cm. Their beautiful feathery pectoral and dorsal fins are highly venomous.

Habitat:

Found singly or in small groups almost anywhere on coral and rocky reefs, caves, dropoffs and sandy areas. They are common in the Indo-Pacific region.
