Field Notes

Description:

A bagworm with a sense of humour. This one has some black materials stuck on the case which were actually tiny strips of black plastic mesh sun shade netting.

This bagworm also moved very quickly from one part of the netting to another.

Habitat:

Disintegrating sun shade mesh netting in the backyard.

Notes:

I've added the last picture (taken a day earlier) for contrast.

So this innovative bagworm has decided to use the plastic netting just because it was ... handy?

Bagworms make me laugh - at times.

We have lots here too - in all shapes and sizes. But this plastic one takes the top prize for being funny.
How funny! We have lots of these guys in Tennessee but ours are far less innovative in their case building!
