Description:

A Rhesus macaque sitting roadside in Margalla Hills area in Islamabad eating from items thrown by visitors

Habitat:

They inhabit a very wide variety of terrains. In Islamabad they thrive in Margalla Hills and are very frequently scene roadside by visitors taking a trip to the Hills.

Notes:

Currently they face no danger of extinction. The Margalla Hills area provides a habitat with very few predators, natural camouflage, abundance of food and space for these monkeys. The locals have found a business in capturing and training these animals for entertainment of the visitors.
