Description:
Also known as Shortfin Firefish, Shortfin Turkeyfish, Dwarf Fuzzy Lionfish and Shortspined Butterfly Cod. This lionfish is smaller than the Common Lionfish (Pterois volitans).
It feeds on smaller fish and crustaceans. Its spines on its back and fins are highly venomous.
Habitat:
Found singly or in small groups on coastal reefs and in lagoons all over the Indo-Pacific region.
Notes:
I think this lionfish in my photos is a juvenile...
