Field Notes

Description:

A very abundant top-dwelling fish of the San Francisco Bay. These fish are found throughout shallow waters of the eastern Pacific from British Columbia down to Baja.

Notes:

Very large number of these fish were jumping in Pond A2E. Perhaps it was due to low oxygen content as the past few days were quite warm. In several other of the salt ponds, large number of white pelicans and herons seemed to be taking advantage of the vulnerable fish.
