Description:

It seemed like a young fish. The body was long and thin, with black and white alternating stripes. The face was pointed.

Habitat:

The clear, warm waters of the San Blas archipelago on the Caribbean side of Panama.

I can't say I've heard of Pike that far south. Also, I was just a few steps from a large concentration of starfish, and also later swam in the same water - it was salty enough to sting my eyes.

They start as really small, but can grow to over a meter. Used to catch these fish a lot in my childhood. They are real strong predators. But don't know if there is a salt water variant. Do you know if it was brakish water? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brackish_water It seems they live there as well.
