Charençon

Naupactus xanthographus (curculionidae)

Comments (3)

The species is endemic to Chile, but evidently not rare. The "eyebrows" readily discriminate Aegorhinus spp. vs. most other weevils, including Naupactus. The weevil in the reference forwarded by Leuba bears a wrong ID. It is not even closely related to Naupactus. This is the true N.xanthographus: http://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/417299-Naupactus-xanthographus
Hi Rugle, This looks like the most likely - do you have other pictures/different aspects of this insect ?. perhaps someone with expertise can confirm.
Thanks Leuba :D !
