Description:
Also known as Longspine Seahorse, Longsnout Seahorse, Spiny Seahorse and Prickly Seahorse. They feed on tiny swimming invertebrates which they suck whole into their mouths. They grow to about 15cm in length.
Habitat:
Found singly or in pairs on sandy bottoms with corals and sponges, sometimes in algae covered rubble reef zones. They attach to anything they can get their tail around -- even each other -- usually close to the bottom to blend in with their surroundings. They are found all over the Western Pacific.
