Allright! You should add some info about the species on the description when you have the time, we can edit the spottings whenever we want to to change errors or to add more info or to add it to a mission.

We're nature lovers so of course we let him free:) Naturally, my son wanted to keep him for a while but that wasn't going to happen. I didn't think of measuring at the time. It looked like a young snake, not much more than a foot long. I put it in a jar just so the children could observe it for a little, we took some photos and then sent him on his way in the same spot where we found it.

Good to know, I'm only saying this because I made some horrible mistakes myself when I was younger, but I see the exitement of keeping an animal as beautiful as this for a period to study and to adore it.

Yeah, but not eastern garter snakes. Ive kept dozens of them temporarily & they've always eaten very readily. If you do decide to keep it for a bit,just by some feeder goldfish & put them in its water dish. In the off chance it doesnt eat...You gotta let it go...

Nice spotting! I hope you let it out into the wild again... many creatures become very stressed when caged and some might even die from it! I'm not sure why, but reptiles may throw up their stomachcontent and they will stop eating when stressed enough... Did you measure it? Was it adult or newly hatched?
