Field Notes

Description:

Aquatic. Leaf blades 5-16" long and 4-8" wide. They are usually held several inches above the water on round leafstalks, but occasionally float on the surface. Leaves are heart-shaped, cleft, and have pinnate veins. Globe-shaped yellow flowers are produced from stout pedicels that emerge a few inches from the water.

Habitat:

Shallow arm of small, glacial lake.
