Description:
Native of Europe, Asia, and North Africa - Naturalized in most of North America. (Can be invasive). Biennial - The first year as a basal rosette & the second year as a tall flowering stem. Zones: 6-9. Height: 2 - 4 feet. Spread: 2 - 3 feet. Bloom time: July - September. Attracts: Bumble bees, Halictine bees and Syrphid flies.
Habitat:
Light: Full Sun. Water: Medium. Native Habitat: Pastures, abandoned fields, vacant lots, irregularly mowed lawns, areas along roadsides and railroads, and gravel bars along rivers. It prefers highly disturbed areas and is not invasive of natural areas to any significant degree.
