Field Notes

Description:

It's a marsh-walker. It's widely distributed in North America but actually seeing this little fellow is quite difficult.

Habitat:

The Sora loves hidding in dense cattail vegetation that grow around lakes and rivers. I've seen it feeding on knotweed (Polygonum spp.)

Notes:

It was a little bit hard to get a good picture of this bird because of its behaviour. It's very secretive!!!

OK! Good sugestion Alice, I like that picture too! Hehe, I'm still learning how to use my account. Greetings!!!
I think if you changed the order of your pictures, more people might stop to view them, like put number 3 first.
I've heard one many years ago, but never gotten to see more than a tail disappearing in the reeds
Lovely Spotting !!
Thanks Liam!!! I spent about three or four hours one morning laying down on the ground by the cattails, just waiting for the Soras to get used to me and start showing up. I really like these birds, they are pretty cool to watch. Greetings!!!
Great photos! They rarely come out for shots. I have yet to get photos of them like yours! Really well done, Mike!
