Field Notes

Description:

This tree is a healthy specimen that has a number of broken branches near the it's top. It had leaves at the time of this observation.

Habitat:

This tree is near to open water but not immediately adjacent. It has good sun exposure but also has wind shelter from nearby evergreens. The conditions are ideal for this tree.

Notes:

The day prior to this observation they had been 5.9 mm of snow. The snow accumulated on the leafy branches and was too heavy resulting in breakage. These broken branches need to be trimmed to prevent further damage to the tree. They are also a potential safety hazard and reduce the aesthetic appeal.
