Description:

juvenile nestling, de-nested

Habitat:

shoreline native and alien grasses scrub and small trees

Notes:

also known as the mejiro; spotted on trail at Nualolo Kai on Kauai

Spotting was six years ago. Did not see nest from which it fell, or any adults nearby; there were few if any potential predators, e.g., cats or rats, in this remote area, so made no attempt at "rescue"; just left it alone; did not see it the next time I went along the trail later in the day; nature took its course, but I don't know what that course was
De nested-- Are the birds safe ??Have never been able to photograph one of these as they are normally so active...
