Description:

A common,terrestrial skink from the mid-hills of Western Ghats.

Habitat:

Inhabits evergreen,moist deciduous and plantation forest such as rubber plantations,in closed as well as open forests.Diurnal,its diet and reproductive habits are unknown

Notes:

Known frm Karnataka and Kerala states...

Fabulous tail and lovely photograph. Have you ever seen any 'all gold ants' in Kerala? or all copper ones? I saw them at Thekaddy and Periyar 8 years ago and stupidly didn't take any pictures. Now people don't believe me.
Thanks, Sachin ...The skink was not in this position when I had started to photograph ..Unlike, other skinks which scurry away at the sight of anyone this fellow just kept moving slowly and I was lucky when he moved neared the plant .. Got a nice composition...
