Field Notes

Description:

small ground clinging succulent plant with round leaves that were green and deep red. It had yellow flowers

Habitat:

growing on rocks by the ocean on the tip of Cozumel, Mexico's Punta Sur Eco Park.

Notes:

I'm almost 100% sure that the ID is accurate to Genus, thanks to the suggestion given below. After looking through online photos and references the flowers in particular led me to conclude for the ID. I think the look of the plant that looks redder, and more compact than most photos is due to growing conditions.

Thank you "NatureNow" for pointing me in the right direction. I am looking at Portulaca species and varieties now. I think you are are right, it may be Common Purslane, at least that's what it looks like to me.
It might be a form of purslane, or something similar.
