Ice Plant

Carpobrotus Aequilateru

Not native to California but it is all along the coast now. Not my favorite plant. Got tons in my back yard along the hillside. I'm getting ready to pull it out and replace it with something else if anyone wants it. Part of the problem (but in my case the blessing) is that it has very little root structure so it comes up easily. It is a myth that it helps with wildfires and they certainly are not a good defense against flash floods and erosion. There are better choices.
