Description:

Columbella rustica is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Columbellidae, the dove snails.
Biconical shell, about 2cm long with a slightly elevated turn. The color is very variable, usually brown with small irregular spots of a whitish tone, or it can also show white or yellowish tones. The empty shells are colonized by hermits, annelids and porifers.

Habitat:

Shallow bottoms, under stones and in bottom crevices; at a depth that varies between 1 - 12m. Rocky coast of La Manga (Murcia).
