Description:
This Bobcat was walking toward us on a trail then turned into the forest. I caught a glimpse of it while it was on a log before it disappeared again. This was a healthy looking cat about 25 pounds with tan fur and black spots. The face has longer fur with a white chin. The eyes are yellow and the nose it pink. The tail has black stripes a white tip and is about 6 inches long (not shown).
Habitat:
Yosemite National Park near Mirror Lake. Bobcats are found throughout most of the continental US, southern Canada and northern Mexico.
Notes:
Bobcats eat mainly rabbits, squirrels, fish and birds.
