Spicebush Swallowtail
Papilio troilus
40.2732, -76.8837
Field Notes
Description:
3-4 inches long, brown/black in color, two rows of orange spots on the ventral wing with a hint of blue between them, found in Central and Eastern US.
Habitat:
My backyard
Notes:
Anyone know if this is a male or a female? Didn't get any good shots of the dorsal wings, and as far as I know there isn't really any definitive way to distinguish male from female by just the ventral wings.
