Field Notes

Description:

Juvenile Cassis cornuta mollusk, with yellow animal and yellow shell ~ 14 cm long and ~ 9 cm high with brown markings.

Habitat:

Near shore tropical waters; coral reef ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotted off of Leeward Oahu in sand. Original media photoprints taken with Nikonos III using close-up kit and flash; prints later scanned and images saved as digital files.
