Description:

My son found this slimy fat headed fish in his crab trap in the canal. About a foot long. Head about 3-4" across. Wide mouth full of teeth.

What is this thing? Snakehead?

That's it! Thank you... And yes, it's still alive. From trap to bucket to dock for the photo...then flipped it back in the canal.
I think this is not snakehead. Snakehead is freshwater species. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakehead_(fish) I think this one is monkfish (member of anglerfish) Is it still alive?
