Field Notes

Description:

These cattle are very timid and I've tried to approach them before but they've always shied away, but this time I was sat on the grass taking some photos of dragonflies and this calf came right up to me. There are different breeds of cattle here, this breed have large floppy ears and are reared, I believe for meat, although there is not a lot of beef in the Thai diet. They are also used to graze and fertilize the rice fields once harvesting has been completed. Very cute and inquisitive : )
