Description:
A wake of turkey vultures on a newly planted tobacco field.
Habitat:
A family farm in Kentucky. Surrounding area is woodland and farms. Near the west branch of the Red River, and a marshy pond.
Notes:
A nest with two chicks was located in an old barn just north of this photo. There was an ominous growling sound as we neared the nest. The mother flew away and waited in a tree outside, as the chicks hissed at us.
